Himeji City Aquarium

Sunday afternoon, we went with our friend Miho to The Himeji City Aquarium. It was a great trip. It was a small aquarium, but with 2 small kids, that was all we needed.

These are spider crabs. The ones on the left are what I call regular, the ones on the left are ready for Christmas.
Some penguins. They were having fun singing to each other.

Miho was talking to the kids about the different size/age sea turtles. I think this aquarium is now for its sea turtles.
They get pretty big

This is their nesting area. We watch one turtle dig a hole in preparation for laying some eggs. It was cool to watch her dig with her hind legs and not see what she was doing.
This is about all we see of Mitch these days. He recently got a new digital 35 mm camera and loves to use it. He took some great photos of the kids that the touch pool here at the aquarium. Maybe if you all bug him to see some pictures with his new camera, he will get back to blogging :-)
