Happy Father's Day, Mitch!

Sunday morning was great!! the kids slept till 8:20 and when they came into our bedroom, they were very happy....

RJ, Sara and I made Daddy breakfast in bed. And the kids gave daddy his gifts that they made him at school. RJ painted a fan for daddy to use that the Yukata Matsuri next weekend, and Sara made him a pencil holder with her hand prints on it. very cute.

RJ sang to daddy.

Then the kids gave him his other gifts. He received an art kit to paint postcards....
A Hello Kitty Tie...

and a hot & cold thermos. It was a great morning.

Later in the day, RJ asked if we could take Daddy to Yakiniku for dinner. Of course Daddy and I agreed it was a good idea! We went off on a bike ride, then to Haya to eat Yakiniku. After a late lunch, we stopped off at this park...

Apparently, RJ sometimes comes here with his school. The side where we entered, there was a big ditch to cross..

Daddy helped

The park was pretty much a bunch of concrete structures. We are not sure what it was originally built for, but it seems abandoned.

this pump didn't seem to work, however when Mitch and the kids walked away from it, it started to make a weird sound. I was afraid ti was going to blow up or something...but nothing happened.

Before we left, I convinced Mitch and the kids to climb into the ditch. This type of ditch is what lines the streets. When you are riding your bike along the street (where there is no sidewalk) you fear falling into one of these. Knock on wood, we have not fallen in yet. But you can see how deep they are.
Then Daddy taught Sara how to climb out
and RJ wanted to also
On the bike ready to leave. Notice the decoration on the concrete pillar on the left side of the picture....

The park must be called the Feel Train....not sure what that means.
It was a nice, relaxing day. Thanks Mitch for being such a great father to our children! They are the luckiest kids around!
