We had a great weekend. On Sunday our friends Miho and Akiko took all of us to 3 wonderful museums. I will post them in 3 different blogs, this being the first.
Himeji City Children's Museum
We started by going into the craft room
There were many boxes of recycled items and all were free to be used however we wanted. Miho got us all started by helping RJ pick out a few things to make a car.
I decided I would help Sara make a doll (of some kind).
Mitch helped by decorating the Chief's head dress.
Sara had a blast using the scissors. It was so cute to watch her. She could not open the blades with her fingers in the loops so she had to take them out every time she made a cut. But she never gave up. She cut all the papers that were used to decorate the "body" of her doll.
Akiko got started on her own little project. She made 3 fishing poles and lots of fish. RJ loved "going fishing". Miho made a basket to carry all the fish RJ caught. Thanks Akiko for letting RJ have the fishing set.
As we were walking into the museum, Miho pointed out several sculptures. She told us they were inspired by drawings children had made. Mitch went off in search of a few of them. He might post more pictures of them on his blog, but these were a few of my favorite.
After we finished up in the craft room, we headed through the Children's library. We stopped and visited the large airplane.
Then we headed into what I will call the wooden room.
There was a box of what appeared to be shavings from wood.
Akiko enjoyed shoveling in the ball pit.
I had fun being buried too.
I think RJ would have made G-Papa proud that day.
Even RJ and Akiko enjoyed
Akiko finally got the tree all to herself.
This is me being artistic. There were several stands of puzzles and I thought it would be cool to take a picture through one of the cutouts. That is Miho, RJ and Akiko still talking in the house

looks like a great museum! But why are you all wearing big numbers on your shirts?
