Fun Time with Miho

March 12, 2008

Our friend Miho picked Mitch, Sara and I up early on Wednesday and took us to see a few things. Our first stop was the "Traffic Park" .
Sara immediately decided that Miho was the greatest person on the planet for bringing her to this cool place with all the fun stuff. She held on to her hand for most of the trip.

Sara and her new best friend, Miho.

The park has some toys and games that you pay for, but there is a whole section of playground equipment. We spent most of our time there.
Sara is much more adventurous than RJ ever was at this age. She loves slides and could play on them all day of we let her.

This rocket ship leads to a roller slide. I remember enjoying the one at a park south of Glendale Ave on 39th Ave. In America they got rid of all the roller slides because too many kids were getting hurt for going done them on their feet and not their bottom. But here in Japan, everyone takes responsibility for themselves. So the kids here get to enjoy roller slides....which means my kids get to enjoy them while we are here!!

And Mitch too!! What a happy little girl!!! I love it when she smiles!!
Yes, this is why they were removed in America.

Miho and Sara on the roller slide.
Another slide for Sara!!

I was enjoying playing with Sara. It is amazing how much the second child does not get a lot of one on one time, so I try to soak it up when I can!!
Sara got Miho to go down the spinning slide.

Then came Sara, again
And Mommy too!
After we finished prying Sara off the slide, she got Mommy and Miho to play "wee". but she has to do the counting...sometimes in English, sometimes in Japanese, sometimes mixed, but she gets to three so she can go "wee"

After the park, Miho took us to her house. They had come to our house on March 3rd for dinner and I asked if she had put out Akiko's Hina Dolls and she told me no. The next day I received an email saying that she put them out and wanted to share with us. When we arrived at her house after the park, Sara got to hold the Empress and pose for a picture.

Miho has some great toys for Sara to play with (She has lent us some of them for our house). Sara had a lot of fun playing.
This is a Japanese Harmonica. You blow in the mouth piece then you play the keyboard. All the kids in Japan learn to play this in Elementary school. This belonged to Miho's children.

Miho had a snack for us. It was strawberry yogurt (the same kind Sara loved for her birthday breakfast), and some rice treats. They were very oishi (delicious).

Sara loved the strawberries and yogurt.
more play time for Sara
What a beautiful smile. I love her dimple, as does everyone in Himeji when they get to see it!

While we were at Miho's. her daughter Akiko came home from school. Mitch asked her to play the piano for us. She played Chopsticks for us. It was beautiful. She played both parts, not just the easy part that all of us have learned at some point in our lives. She is a great pianist. Thanks for playing Akiko!

This is their house
Goodbye Akiko!!
