After our boat ride, we went in search of lunch. There was a fresh market near where we boarded the ship for the whirlpools. Before we got there, though, Sara found a comfortable place to sit down...

Once we coaxed her out of there, we went off looking for lunch....

Dried octopus

escargot

octopus (I am sure you can imagine Mitch was not happy about his lunch prospects, RJ and I were very excited!)

The market area

Sara is always making friends and sometimes she even gets presents

Eel and octopus

more octopus (Mitch had the camera that day and he was obsessed with all the octopus even though he won't eat it)

up close of the octopus

flat fish

RJ's octopus

yummy!!

Then we had dessert. Awaji is known for it onions. The ice cream stand we stopped at had onion flavored ice cream...ahh come on , RJ is not that weird...he only got vanilla.
